Waiver Eligibility
1. Introduction
The Governance Accounting Archive Review (GAAR) is committed to providing access to its archival materials to researchers and other interested parties. To facilitate this access, the GAAR offers a waiver program that allows users to request a waiver of certain fees associated with accessing and using its materials.
2. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a waiver, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a student enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited university or college.
- Be a faculty member at an accredited university or college.
- Be an independent researcher or scholar affiliated with a research institution or professional organization.
- Be a government employee or representative of a non-profit organization working on a project related to governance, accounting, or public policy.
- Demonstrate financial hardship that would prevent them from paying the associated fees without the waiver.
3. Application Process
Applicants for a waiver must submit a completed application form to the GAAR. The application form should include the following information:
- Applicant's name and contact information
- Applicant's affiliation (e.g., university, research institution, etc.)
- Description of the research or project for which the materials will be used
- Explanation of why the applicant needs a waiver
- Documentation of financial hardship (optional)
4. Review Process
The GAAR will review all waiver applications on a case-by-case basis. The following factors will be considered in the review process:
- The applicant's eligibility criteria
- The merits of the research or project
- The applicant's financial need
- The availability of funds for waivers
5. Notification of Decision
Applicants will be notified of the GAAR's decision within four weeks of submitting their application. If a waiver is granted, the applicant will be provided with a waiver code that can be used to access the requested materials.
